Megalithic remains
Donostialdea holds the largest concentration of megalithic remains in the Basque Country. Our mountains abound with prehistoric remains in the form of Menhirs, dolmens or cromlech. Places still shrouded in magic and mystery, which you won’t be able to overlookDiscover our megalithic heritage.
Their origin is not known for sure, nor the reasons that led people to build these megalithic monuments; but the fact is, our mountains are replete with megaliths.In the hiking section there are many routes which visit some of these monuments; however, we would like to suggest 2 in particular which travel round the most important megalithic stations of Donostialdia, namely: Oindi-Mandoegi and Igorin-Akola.
